Today I learned that if your feed store happens to be closed on new years day you can use oatmeal or instant cereal as a substitute for baby chicken feed. A little cooked egg and raw carrot added into the mix makes for a great meal. Overall not very useful in the day to day but it does make me think seriously about adding oatmeal back into my meal plan. If it is healthy and safe for tiny growing things it will perhaps do me some good as well.
